The Allen-Bradley 1300-EMT terminal is an enhanced door-mounted terminal with a variety of different features, including password, monitor, parameter, EEPROM, terminal setup, drive setup, faults, and logout features. The terminal will allow the end-users to set and view drive parameters, alter the drive configuration, monitor drive functions, and check for faults as well as troubleshoot the drive. It also features a 64-character LCD screen which can display 4 lines of 16 alpha-numeric characters each, and a password feature to protect against unauthorized access.
The 1300-EMT terminal is connected to the drive via the use of a 9-conductor cable with a D-type female connector. A 9-pin male D-type connector is mounted on the terminal block of the drive. Communications between the main control board and programming terminal are utilized via the RS-422 serial communication port. The 1300-EMT terminal provides 2 levels of access to the various functions which are controlled with a password. Once the password has been entered, the end-user has access to the full functionality of the hardware in the unlimited or programming, mode. If any test or request made by the 1300-EMT terminal has a problem during the initial stages of powering up, a fault message will appear on the LCD screen. There are 2 fault menu screens, which are the "View Faults" screen and the "Clear Faults" screen. There is also an option to do a system reset, where the terminal attempts to clear the drive fault buffer and reset the drive. For the system reset function, the terminal will attempt to reset the drive and programming terminal. To determine successful completion, a visible power-up will be initiated and the users will be returned to the main menu screen.
