About 196259

The 196259 is a main control board from the 195 Digital DC drives from Allen-Bradley. The module performs the control functions for the drive. The control board must be used in a clean, dry, and non-corrosive industrial environment where the ambient temperature range is between 0 and 65 degrees Celsius and the humidity should be non-condensing in a range between 5 and 95%. The drive needs to be maintained periodically for the optimum performance of the device. The 196259 board coordinates and controls the functions of the drive. It has a 9-pin D-shell interface which is used for the programming of the drive. The encoders in the drive provide feedback about the relative position of the motor shaft.

The 196259 board has a connector for the drive to communicate via the Micro BUS and it also has interface connectors for all analog signals on the drive. The circuit board contains hardware to support microprocessor firmware operation for the microbus interface, control firmware and analog signal interface, and to develop gate firing signals for the switcher board. The board must be replaced by personnel who are trained on the system to prevent any damage to the equipment. Users should make sure the safety guidelines are followed when doing the installation and the instructions provided by the manufacturer must be followed. The device must be turned off and isolated from the main supply when performing the installation to prevent any hazard from electric shock. The 196259 has two ports for communication between the drive and external devices like a PLC via the microbus interface.
