The 1397-A020R regenerative digital drive is a basic type of regenerative digital drive from the Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Bulletin 1397 series. It does not come with any built-in optional features like several of the other Bulletin 1397 drives do. However, the 1397-A020R regenerative digital drive can generate up to 20 Horsepower or 15 kilowatts of output power and it has an input voltage rating of 230 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. It comes with an open chassis but it can be installed in an enclosure for protection from dust and liquids. The 1397-A020R regenerative digital drive supports a short circuit rating of 5000 Amps.

The 1397-A020R digital DC drive is a compact, regenerative DC drive from Allen-Bradley. It belongs to the Allen-Bradley 1397 series of DC drives. This DC drive comes with 230 Volts AC of input voltage, 50/60 Hertz of input frequency, and 20 Horsepower of output power. It has 240 Volts DC of armature voltage and 73 Amps of armature current. The DC field voltage and current ratings of the drive are 150 Volts DC and 15 Amps, respectively. Its short circuit current rating is 10,000 Amps. Its SCANport communication interface allows the drive to be easily integrated into any application with an Allen-Bradley PLC, DeviceNet, ControlNet, or generic serial communication network.

The 1397-A020R DC drive consists of the latest digital current regulator and speed regulator algorithm for precise and efficient DC motor control. Its automatic speed and current loop tuning capabilities allow the users to control the motor precisely. The analog and digital inputs of the drive can be reconfigured according to the application requirements. However, they have fixed functions. The drive has a 250 mA, 24 Volts rated power supply to power additional peripheral devices. The drive has a keypad for drive setup, including parameter adjustment and monitoring. The 1397-A020R regenerative DC drive can be used in applications that require continuous regeneration for overhauling loads. Use wires that have an individual shield for every pair to obtain the best interference suppression. All drives are shipped with factory default parameter settings. The parameter values can be changed by using the human-machine interface module. Make sure to mount the drive in a clean and dry location.
