The Allen-Bradley 160-AA02PSF1 is an AC Smart Speed Controller that is part of the Bulletin 160 SSC Variable Speed Drives (Series C).  It is a three-phase input voltage controller that requires 200 to 240 Volts to operate. The output rating for this controller is 2.3A while its motor rating is at 0.37 kW, 5HP. The 160-AA02PSF1 is an analog signal follower model that has a chassis mount enclosure type (external heatsink). It is also built with a standard Ready/Fault Indicating panel to make it fully functional. Additionally, this drive has its own cooling fan that provides sufficient airflow across the heatsink fins to avoid overheating.

The output phasing for Series C drives, including the 160-AA02PSF1, is different compared to Series A and B controllers. Substitution of a Series A or B controller with a Series C controller using identical U, V, and W connections (T1, T2, and T3) will alter the motor rotation. To make sure that the rotation of the motor is in the same direction, you need to exchange any two of the three output wires attached to U, V, or W (T1, T2, and T3) from the motor. Since the 160-AA02PSF1 is an AC drive, it contains high-voltage capacitors that may result in personal injury. Prior to working on this drive, ensure that the main supply from line inputs have been isolated. Avoid other damaging activities such as supplying an inadequate or incorrect AC supply, exposing the drive to immoderate ambient temperatures, and undersizing the motor. There is no internal brake transistor available for 160-AA02PSF1. In case external breaking is required, a 1HP (0.75 kW) drive must be used.
