The 160-AA03NPS1P1 Series “C” Allen-Bradley’s Smart Speed Controller (SSC) is a compact variable speed drive that can be used on three-phase induction AC motors. Controlled by a microprocessor, this compact design controller operates quietly, has Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Control, is programmable through a keypad module, and has feed-through wiring with Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) Technology.  It also has a hinged finger control that allows easy access to line/load terminals; control functions can be performed via the control terminal block (TB3) and default factory settings can be changed through a Ready/Fault Indicating Panel.  Situated close to each other are two LEDs; the Ready Indicator LED, for when the DC bus is charged and the drive is ready for use, and the Fault Indicator LED, which, as the name implies, indicates any drive fault condition. There are two DC bus test points easily accessible for test probes for measuring DC bus voltage.  To keep the device cool and prevent overheating, the device is convection cooled. The 160-AA03NPS1P1 has a program keypad module installed on the front panel of the drive.  It has a program mode indicator, two directional LED indicators, a 6-digit, 7-segment LED display, three keys that control inputs to the drive and five keys for displaying drive parameters and for programming.  The module can operate in two modes, which are display and program, with the former as the start-up default. The 160-AA03NPS1P1 has an input voltage rating of 200 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz, 1.4 kVA, three phase input with an Open (IP20) Style, preset speed, and an output current rating of 0.55 kW at 0.75 HP, 3 Amps. Its power dissipation is 25 Watts.
