The 3-phase Allen-Bradley 160-AA08NPS1 is a 160 series AC Smart Speed Controller (SSC) that features a preset speed control with 8 preset frequencies available by default, an IP20, open-type enclosure rating, an input kVA of 3.7, and a maximum output current rating of 8 A. The power dissipation of this controller is 70 W, and it also has a 3-phase motor output rating of 2 HP and 1.5 kW. At a line frequency rating of 50 to 60 Hertz, the 160-AA08NPS1 controller’s input voltage is 200 to 240 Volts AC and its operational range is from 180 to 265 Volts AC. The output voltage can be programmed from anywhere between 0 Volts and the input voltage of the SSC and the output frequency can also be configured from anywhere between 0 and 240 Hertz. When using the 160-AA08NPS1 controller, ensure that the ambient temperature falls within a range of 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit, at an altitude not exceeding 3300 feet or 1000 meters, and store it in a place with a temperature range of -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. It is important that this module’s environment be completely free of any corrosive gases or particles. The 160-AA08NPS1’s enclosure rating allows the user to install the controller on a flat and level surface through the use of a DIN rail mount measuring 35 millimeters or through the use of mounting screws with a 4.5-millimeter maximum diameter.

The front panel of this controller indicates its current status, whether it is ready for operation or whether it has detected a fault, via the red/green with LED status indicators.
