The Allen-Bradley 160-AA18NSF1 is a three-phase 160 series AC Smart Speed Controller (SSC) that has a variable speed, a preset speed control, and a program keypad module that allows the user to modify the controller’s factory default settings. Present on this keypad module is an LED which is capable of showing 6 digits and 7 segments, directional LED indicators, 3 control keys, and 5 programming keys for the control parameters. The 160-AA18NSF1 also has the standard features of Allen-Bradley 160 Series controllers, specifically 3 terminal blocks dedicated to the line power, control wiring, and motor wiring and a ready/fault indicating front panel equipped with LED status indicators.

It is important that the user install the 160-AA18NSF1 controller, with an IP20 open-type enclosure rating, to a flat, vertical, and level surface for an optimum performance. It also has an ambient temperature of 0-50 °C and a storage temperature of -40-85 °C. The 160-AA18NSF1 controller also has an operating altitude of 1000 m or 3300 ft. maximum without derating, as well as a 0-95% non-condensing relative humidity. Its operating vibration is 1 g and its operating shock is 15 g.
