Allen Bradley’s “Series C” Smart Speed Controller (SSC) 160-BA02NSF1 is a compactly designed drive with changeable speed.  Its purpose is to control three-phase induction AC motors through the use of a built-in microprocessor.

The 160-BA02NSF1 has an IP20 (Open Style) enclosure, an analog signal follower, 380 to 460 Volts at 50 to 60 Hertz, three phase; its drive input ratings are 0.55 kW, 0.75 HP while its output ratings are 1.7A and its power dissipation is around 30 Watts. Convection cooled, this module operates at an ambient temperature between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius. Three drive terminal blocks are present in the 160-BA02NSF1; terminal block TB1 (for dynamic brake module, ground, line and power wiring), terminal block TB2 (for capacitor module, motor, and ground wiring) and terminal block TB3 (for control wiring).  The drive exhibits unique features such as status LEDs (for fault and ready statuses), a ready/fault indicating panel, quiet running, feed-through wiring, IGBT technology, and pulse width modulation (PWM) control.  Its certifications are C/UL (CSA 22.2), C-Tick AS/NZS2064, CE EMC Directive (EMC: En61800-3, EN50081-1, EN50082-2), low voltage directive (LVD: EN50178, EN6024-1) and UL (UL 508C). The drive may be installed on a 35 millimeter DIN rail or on a level, flat, vertical surface, using the recommended installation screws.
