The 160-BA02PPS1 is part of the Series “C” line of Smart Speed Controllers (SSC) from Allen Bradley, manufactured by a foremost industry leader Rockwell Automation.  This controller is a variable speed controller that is compatible with three-phase induction AC motors. Power input ratings of the 160-BA02PPS1 are 380 to 460 Volts three phase at 50 at 60 Hertz, with an operational input voltage range of 340 to 506 Volts AC. It has an input kVA of 1.8 and an input current of 2.0 Amps.  Its 3-phase output motor rating is 0.55 kW and 0.75 HP while the maximum output is 1.7 Amps, the power dissipation is 30 Watts, and it is convection cooled. This drive has a typical efficiency rate of 97.5%, IP20 (chassis mount), a standard transient protection of 6 kV, and is a preset speed model.  Approvals include UL 508C, C-Tick AS/NZS2064, CE EMC Directive and C/Ul (CSA 22.2). The 160-BA02PPS1 can operate within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit and should be stored between -40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit.  Its relative humidity is from 0 to 95% (non-condensing) and can operate at an altitude of 1,000 meters (3,000 feet) without derating. The 160-BA02PPS1 has a number of optional communication modules such as DeviceNet and RS-232.  The drive can be controlled and issued commands with 24 Volts logic (sinking inputs) via an optional 24 Volts DC interface module.  It can be installed on a vertical, flat and level surface using prescribed screws or it can be installed on a 35 millimeter DIN rail. A very compact design, the 160-BA02PPS1 can operate relatively without noise.  Features for monitoring, controlling and diagnosing the drive include ready/fault indicating panel, DC bus test points, ready/fault and indicator LEDs.  Easy access to load/line power terminals is made possible via the hinged finger guard.
