The Allen-Bradley 160-BA04PPS1 is a 160 Series fan-cooled, three-phase AC Smart Speed Controller (SSC) which is chassis mounted, which uses an external heatsink, and which is equipped with a preset speed control feature. The input ratings of this controller consist of a 3.7 input kVA, a 50-60 Hz line frequency, a 380-460V voltage rating, and a 340-506V operational range. The 160-BA04PPS1 controller also has output ratings of 65 W of power dissipation, 4 A of maximum output current, and a 2 HP and 1.5 kW three-phase motor rating. Note that this controller has a programmable output frequency, from 0-240 Hz, and it has an output voltage that is from 0V to the input voltage. Present on all 160 Series speed controllers, including the 160-BA04PPS1 controller, is a ready/fault indicating panel at the front of the controller, which has LED status indicators installed, and three terminal blocks for its control wiring, its motor wiring, and its line power. This controller should only be placed and stored in an area without corrosive particles in the atmosphere. It should also be installed on a surface that is flat, vertical, and even or smooth.

The 160-BA04PPS1 controller has a 15 g operating shock, as well as a 1 g operating vibration. When not operating, it has a shock of 30 g and a vibration of 2.5. Its ambient operating temperature is 0-50 °C and its non-operating temperature is -40-85 °C. The speed controller’s non-condensing relative humidity ranges from 0-95%, and its maximum operating altitude is 1000 m or 3300 ft. without derating.
