* The Allen Bradley 160-BA04RSF1 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 160-BA04RSF1 units instead of migration.
Allen Bradley’s Chassis Mount Replacement unit, the 160-BA04RSF1, is designed for installation with a Frame Size “A” Smart Speed Controller. Do not touch the surfaces of the drive. They are very hot and can cause deep burns. Post installation, remove the debris label from this unit to avoid any form of overheating or false trip offs. Before installing or servicing this module, all units should be removed from their power source, so as to ensure protection from electrical shock. A total of seven screws bind the heatsink with the intermediate plate; remove from the heatsink all seven screws as well as the thermal-grade interface pad. Only tools that are not harmful to this module’s parts should be used, and both the intermediate plate and the heatsink should be cleaned off with isopropyl alcohol to keep them protected from contamination. After that, the new interface pad, which is symmetrical, can be installed by aligning the holes with the pattern shown on the heatsink. Using the provided prescribed screws, the 160-BA04RSF1 replacement drive can be installed. Inspect and choose those screws to match the ones that were removed earlier on. To guarantee required thermal conduction, torque the screws to 2.0 N-m (18 pounds on an inch). There should be no damage, creases or fold to the thermal interface pad while installing or at any point. Reconnect the power wires and the drive is ready for use. As with Allen Bradley’s 160 drives, when installed in user-provided enclosures, the mounted heatsink extends beyond the enclosure. For this reason, the user should consult the enclosure’s installation manual for the correct sizes. The Heatsink meets the UL Type 4/4X/12 requirements and has a maximum temperature of 194 degrees Fahrenheit. The safe ambient temperature range for this module's external heatsink is 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, while the safe temperature range for the internal enclosure is 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit. The analog signal follower 160-BA04RSF1 is rated at 55 Watts, comprising of 12 Watts for the drive module and 43 Watts for the heatsink.
