* The Allen Bradley 160-BA10RSF1 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, however we specialize in obsolete parts and can likely still supply surplus and/or refurbished replacement 160-BA10RSF1 units instead of migration.
The 160-BA10RSF1 is a Chassis Mount Replacement module by Allen Bradley. This IP20 replacement chassis is suited to smart speed controllers with a Frame Size of “B”. Certain precautions should be taken before the installation or servicing; for example, the user should avoid touching the drive’s surfaces, as they are hot and can cause serious burns. Additionally, ensure that all units are disconnected from their power source before installing and or servicing to prevent any electrical shock. The debris label must be removed after installation to prevent nuisance tripping or overheating.
To install the Replacement Chassis Mount 160-BA10RSF1, ensure that the drive is disconnected from power before servicing. Remove the eight screws used to attach the intermediate plate to the heatsink and pull off the pad on the thermal interface from the heatsink. Avoid using any tools that can possibly cause damage to the surface of the intermediate plate or the heatsink. The bottom side of the intermediate plate and the surface of the heatsink should be wiped with isopropyl alcohol to ensure that they are free and clean from any form of contamination. The new symmetrical interface pad should then be installed and the holes aligned with the pattern on the heatsink. The replacement drive should then be installed using the screws supplied. Torque the screws to 2.0 N-m (18 pounds on an inch). Ensure that a minimum clearance of 12.5 millimeters is provided on all sides of the drive module. During the installation, ensure that the thermal interface pad is free from folds, damage or creases. Thereafter the power wires can be reconnected and the drive is now ready to be operated. Allen Bradley’s 160 drives, installed in enclosures, when mounted extends the heatsink beyond the enclosure. As such, check with the enclosure’s installation manual for appropriate sizing. The heatsink is UL Type 4/4X/12 requirements’ certified. The ambient temperature for the internal enclosure and external heatsink is 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and 0 to 40 degrees Celsius respectively while the maximum heatsink temperature is 90 degrees Celsius. The 160-BA10RSF1 is an analog signal follower; the drive module has 16 Watts and its heatsink has 104 Watts, making a total of 120 Watts.
