Among the variations of Allen Bradley’s series of Smart speed Controllers (SSC) is the 160S-AA02NSF1P1, a variable speed drive used for operations with induction AC motors. The 160S-AA02NSF1P1 has a user-friendly and easy-to-use operator interface, which has a Ready/Fault panel and a program keypad module.  When parameter adjustments and monitoring are not required, this Ready/Fault panel is a befitting, cost-saving solution that indicates when the drive is Ready to be operated.  This Program Keypad Module allows the drive’s parameters to be displayed, as well as altered. This module, located on the front panel, comes with directional LEDs, a 6-digit seven segment LED display, five keys to display and program the drive’s parameters, and three control input keys.

The 160S-AA02NSF1P1, an analog signal follower model, has an input voltage of 200 to 240 Volts AC, 1 Phase, at 50 to 60 Hertz, and an operation input voltage of 180 to 265 Volts AC, with a 1.1 kVA input and a 4.8 Amp input current.  This module’s output ratings are 0.37 kW, with a maximum output of 2.3 Amps and a power dissipation of 20 Watts; this module is also convection cooled. It has an IP200 (Open Style) enclosure so that the drive can be protected in most conditions; the ground fault protection also helps this drive stay safe.  This module has an auto-boost that provides excellent performance. The dynamic braking torque, with or without an external dynamic brake module, is 300% and 100% respectively. The 160S-AA02NSF1P1 can be applied to a number of fan and pump operations such as exhaust, injection, slurry, paint booths, clean room (PI), metering and refrigeration. It can also be used for machine tool operations, such as grinders, lathes, woodworking, and milling machines.
