The 160S-AA08NPS1 is an Allen-Bradley manufactured Variable Speed Drive (VSD) from the Bulletin 160 Smart Speed Controllers (SSC). This model is a preset speed type, delivering motor speed command via operator defined, speed outputs which shift from one setting to another using the open collector inputs (SW1, SW2, and SW3) as external triggers. This action enables the drive to modulate the speed of the connected AC motor. This drive implements Pulse width Modulation (PWM) with harmonic compensation technology and uses an IGBT circuit to generate the 3-phase output frequency. It utilizes Volts / Hertz (V/Hz) control which configurable Voltage and Frequency ratio to custom fit the control requirement. The 160S-AA08NPS1 has integrated protective features which include a programmable overcurrent feature; Excessive temperature monitoring via the built-in temperature sensor that monitors the heatsink; Over and undervoltage monitoring of DC Bus; Control Ride Through; Ground short which is the measurement between the output phase and ground; Faultless ride Through and Output Short Circuit between output phase and phase short. It comes with integrated input and output terminals. The control inputs are comprised of Fixed Start, Stop, Fwd/Rev inputs; SW1, SW2, SW3 for configuration of 8 preset speeds and 2 Acceleration and Deceleration times and a fully programmable input configurable for Accel/Decel Times, External Coast to Rest, TB3 Control/Keypad or Communication Control, Frequency Select and Preset Speed. For control outputs, this drive has a built-in Form C relay contact output with a resistive rating of 0.4A at 125VAC; 0.2A at 230VAC; 2A at 30VDC and inductive rating of 0.2A at 125VAC; 0.1A at 230VAC; and 1A at 30VDC.
