The 160S-AA08PSF1P1 is a Smart Speed Controller (SSC) from Allen Bradley’s 160S Series of smart speed controllers. As with all members of this series, the 160S-AA08PSF1P1 controller is designed for use with small AC drive applications.  It has a programmable terminal block, giving it enough flexibility to satisfy a large range of applications without using an external control logic. As a Preset Speed model, the 160S-AA08PSF1P1 provides outstanding control flexibility for those applications where five or more presets or extra control flexibility is needed.  This is achieved via three digital inputs, which make available eight unique preset speeds and two acceleration/deceleration ramp times, both of which are speed dependent. This 160S-AA08PSF1P1 is a 200 to 240 Volt, 1 Phase, 50 to 60 Hertz drive with 3.7 kVA input voltage and 16.3 Amps input current.  It has an output rating of 1.5 kW, 2 HP, 8.0 Amps maximum, output and a power dissipation of 74 Watts. It braking torque is 150% with an external dynamic brake module and 50% without.

The 160S-AA08PSF1P1 has a program keypad module, which can be used to display the drive’s parameters as well as to program the parameters. This keypad module operates in a display mode (startup default mode) and in a program mode. In its display mode, the drive parameters can only be read but cannot be changed. In its program mode, however, this module’s the drive parameters can be displayed as well as also altered. This 160S-AA08PSF1P1 unit is suited for use in manufacturing and material handling applications, such as trolleys, monorails, mixers, palletizers, packaging, feeders, conveyors and winders. Commercial applications to which this drive may also be applied include laundry machines, dock levelers, automatic car washes, and automatic doors.
