The 4100-232-L Compact Motion Controller by Allen-Bradley is a stand-alone compact double axis controller with axis links for providing master electronic and gearing CAM motion features. It uses a field power supply module with an input voltage rating of 90 to 132 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz and a current of 3 Amps, as well as an I/O input voltage of 24 Volts DC nominal at a range of 5 to 40 Volts DC and a current of 3 Amps. The 4100-232-L connects to an external drive system and feedback encoder to provide extended axis velocity, positioning, and acceleration as well as axis multi-orientation interpolations. It has a servo output featuring 2 isolated analog outputs with ±10 Volts DC and a ±150 mA current range (selectable) and a resolution of 16 bits at 305 µV through a 220Ω voltage resistance.
The 4100-232-L is usually connected to a flex I/O module to provide discrete I/O analog input and outputs features like an optically-isolated input with 24 Volts DC input voltage and 12mA per input current, and an optically-isolated, open relay output with an output voltage of 24 Volts DC (nominal). It uses the Intel i960 RISC microprocessor, with a processor speed of 16MHz and a write-protected battery-aided Random Access Memory for application and user setup parameters processing, with 10 years of battery life. It also has a write-lockable battery-backed storage memory for storing the CAM table and user variable values. The 4100-232-L uses the GML for programming and the RS-232C communication port for transferring the programmed application parameters. It has a net weight of 7.7 kilograms (16.90 pounds) and it measures 355.6 x 279.4 x 165.1 millimeters (14 x 11 x 6.50 inches).
