4100-232-RL

The 4100-232-RL Compact Motion Controller by Allen-Bradley is a compact motion controller with 2 axes, a remote I/O adapter, and an Axis Link with options for Axis Link Encoder Conversion Module (ALECs) which allows one of the 2 axes to be master to the other for electronic gearing and CAM. The 4100-232-RL can be programmed by a PC using the Graphic Motion Controller Language (GML) and the user default settings and specific parameters are set to meet specific customization of the 4100-232-RL motion controller. The programmed user applications and settings are then downloaded to the 4100-232-RL cache memory via the unique RS-232C or the RS-422 serial communication port. By connecting the 4100-232-RL to the flex I/O module via the 4100-CCF1 cable, a multi-purpose discrete input and output features are achieved, and in all, only 8 flex I/O can be connected to the 4100-232-RL to achieve a total of 128 discrete I/O points.

The 4100-232-RL uses the electronic gearing and CAM features, for coordinated and synchronized motion profile of any of the axes in many different motion orientations at a programmable ratio. The electronic CAM provides 13,000 master CAM points and 13,000 slave CAM points which is only possible through the ALECs option of the Axis Link. The CAM table and the user default values are stored in a write-protected, battery-backed internal storage memory, with 10 years of battery and data retention time. The 4100-232-RL uses the Intel 80960SB microprocessor with a processor speed of 16MHz. It has shipping dimensions of 355.6 x 279.4 x 165.1 millimeters (14 x 11 x 6.50 inches) and it weighs approximately 7.7 kilograms (16.90 pounds).
