The Allen-Bradley 2094-AC16-M03 is a Kinetix 6000 multi-axis servo drive. It is also known as an IAM (Integrated Axis Module). The continuous output power of the module is 11.3 kW. On the top side of the unit, there is a connector for the power supply. Pins DC+ and DC- are used to connect a 325 Volts DC power supply. Pins L1, L2, and L3 are used for connecting a 3-phase 230 Volts AC power source. The digital I/O interface provides external devices with the possibility of sending and receiving 230 Volts rated digital signals from this device. The Allen-Bradley 2094-AC16-M03 utilizes solid-state motor overload protection that satisfies all of the UL requirements. This servo drive is looking for overload over algorithms called thermal memory that calculate the actual motor temperature based on the machine settings. In addition to this kind of thermal protection, this module provides an input for a thermistor device that is usually pre-installed in the servo motor.
When it comes to current overload, the 2094-AC16-M03 is engineered to withstand 200% overload for 8 minutes or 600% overload for 20 seconds. The Kinetix 6000 multi-axis servo system and the 2094-AC16-M03 Integrated Axis Module simplify the implementation process for multi-channel industrial applications. Axis modules are easily added to the system and attached to the central IAM module. The modules are connected over a quick-connection patented system and they deliver out-of-the-box drive-integrated safety functions for servo motors. These safety functions are related to the stopping, speed, position, acceleration, rotating direction, braking, and torque limiting processes of the servo drive. The purpose the system is to support servo motors by pushing and rotating the object that is being controlled with the highest possible level of accuracy and while following all of the safety guidelines.
