The 2094-BM01 is a Kinetix 6000 axis module designed and engineered by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation. It provides position, speed, velocity, and torque control for servo motors. The 2094-BM01 is a unit that is mounted in a rack in the Kinetix 6000 system in order to be connected to the main power supply. The base configuration of any configured Kinetix 6000 system consists of a common DC bus supply and multiple Bulletin 2094 axis modules that are connected through the DC bus bars. The 2094-BM01 has a compact housing which makes it particularly suitable for use with small machines. The module is bus supplied with 650 Volts DC and it can produce 3.9 kW at the output side. It is capable of exchanging digital signals that are 230 Volts AC rated.
The Allen-Bradley 2094-BM01 is engineered with Ethernet and SERCOS communication slots for quickly connecting to centralized automation systems. They interact with PLCs and provide powerful tools for packaging machines and other types of machines, where large numbers of drives are often required to give significant advantages to machine systems. The housing of the drive is IP20 rated, and it is cooled by an internal fan. The thermistor installed inside of the housing will raise the temperature alarm if it senses temperatures above 50 degrees Celsius. This thermistor will stop the module and the motor connected to it. The Allen-Bradley 2094-BM01 module’s approximate weight is 2.49 kilograms (5.5 pounds). Its continuous current rating is 6.1 Amps, and the peak current is 8.6 Amps. These current ratings are achieved in high-speed operation. For constant velocity operation, these current values are reduced.
