Manufactured by Allen-Bradley, the Kinetix 6500 EtherNet/IP-enabled servo drives belong to the 2094 category of devices that combine high-performance motion with an open EtherNet/IP network. These drives are engineered to help to provide a solution via the EtherNet/IP network by integrating the high-performance servos with the input and outputs, AC drives, smart actuators, as well as other connected EtherNet/IP devices. This setup offers protection features that enhance the safety of the operators while also improving the efficiency of the machine. With a modular structure, these drives provide a flexible infrastructure for the future enhancement of the devices. Some of the main features of Kinetix 6500 servo drives include a continuous output range of 1.2 to 22 kilowatts, and an input voltage range of 324 to 528 Volts AC 3-phase voltage.

The Kinetix 6500 EtherNet/IP-enabled servo drives come with the standard EtherNet network compatibility that helps to get rid of the need for a devoted motion network. These drives can also integrate with version 20 or earlier versions of the RSLogix 5000 programming software design environment as well as version 21 or newer versions of the Studio 5000 automation engineering software and with select ControlLogix controllers. Additionally, these servo drives have switchable control modules that allow the axes to transition to safety functionality or different networks. The Kinetix 6500 servo drives come with safety features such as the safe stop, zero speed monitoring, safe direction monitoring, and the secure maximum acceleration monitoring features. They also give more reliable access to protected areas while the process continues or when the machine operates under limited conditions. Also, they feature built-in security functions such as safe torque-off and safe speed monitor functions.
