The MPAS actuators are Allen-Bradley MP series integrated linear stages that are designed and intended to provide the high performance and high levels of reliability of the MP series servo motor technology to ball-screw actuators along with direct-drive linear slide actuators. The linear stages are made to be used in offensive, high-output industrial automation applications instead of in high-accuracy workroom settings. Items including cable tracks as well as strip seals that wear out can quickly be changed in a matter of minutes and this helps to minimize downtime on the machine. Since the MPAS actuators come as fully integrated motors/actuators and they are supported by the Motion Analyzer software as well as Studio 5000 Logix Designer application software, the amount of time necessary for the mechanical design, setup, programming, and installation processes is radically reduced. These modules also come with an integrated linear stage actuator type, direct-drive linear motor versions that offer speeds of up to 5 meters per second, and ball screw-driven versions for high forces with the absolute multi-turn feedback.
