22-SCM-232

The 22-SCM-232 module is a serial converter module manufactured by Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation as a PowerFlex module. It is compatible with the PowerFlex 4 and PowerFlex 40 drives by Allen Bradley and offers a communication interface for the computer or controller and it implements the DSI to RS-232 conversion. This module utilizes a full-duplex RS232 DF1 protocol. Components of the Allen Bradley 22-SCM-232 serial converter include a DSI connection with a standard RJ45 connector and a cable (the 22-RJ45CBL-C20 cable) that is plugged into the connector. The module features LED status indicators that show when the module is in operation and when the module is receiving and sending data from the PC. The RS-232 serial port locks a low-profile connector with a serial cable (the 1203-SFC cable) plugged into the connector.

Another feature of the Allen-Bradley 22-SCM-232 serial converter module includes a 2-meter serial cable (the 1203-SFC cable) with a low-profile locking connector for linking to the serial converter. The cable comes with a 9-pin subminiature D-type female connector to the PC and the 22-RJ45CBL-C20 cable or the DSI cable and this cable is a 2-meter cable with male to male RJ45 connectors. The Allen-Bradley 22-SCM-232 serial converter module connects to products that implement DSI like the PowerFlex 40 and PowerFlex 4 drives. It is also designed to allow different Allen-Bradley controllers from MicroLogix to the ControlLogix to read, write, and control data from the PowerFlex 4 and 40 drives.
