The Allen-Bradley 22F-D4P2N103 is a PowerFlex adjustable AC Frequency Drive. This drive is specifically part of the PowerFlex 4M product family. This drive mainly features an input voltage range of 380-480VAC, 3-phase and delivers an output voltage range of 0-460VAC, 3-Phase, with applicable motor current of 4.2 A and Power of 1.5 kW (2.0 HP).

The 22F-D4P2N103 also comes with an integral RS485 communication port that supports daisy-chain topology wherein up to 31 drives or compatible device may be connected to this network topology and communicated by a single master device on the network.

The 22F-D4P2N103 also comes with embedded I/O channels such as Five (5) discrete inputs channels. Channels is dedicated for Stop signals, Channel 2 for Start / Run FWD signal reference, while channel 3 is used for Direction / Run Rev input signals. Channels 4 and 5 are fully programmable inputs which is provided for flexibility. It also comes with One (1) Form C relay which may be configured to indicate the motor’s running feedback status. It also has One (1) analog input channel configurable for 0-10VDC; and 0-20mA analog input signals.

The 22F-D4P2N103 requires installation of branch circuit protection components. Allen-Bradley recommends use of a 10 Ampere fuse, 140M-C2E-C10 motor protectors and 100-C09 contactors to complete the branch protection circuitry.

The 22F-D4P2N103 PowerFlex4M drive runs on 3-phase 480V AC input voltage at 50-60 Hz. Its rating is 4.2 A, 1.5 kW, and 2.0 HP. It has a Frame Size B with panel mounting and DIN rail mounting options for installation with an IP20 open enclosure, providing protection against dust particles up to 12mm in size. The 22F-D4P2N103 has a fixed digital keypad with control and programming keys for easy operation. Its intuitive 4-digit LED display has 10 additional indicators to display the information of the drive status. An RS-485 communication port is used for programming from a computer and for multi-drop network configuration. The 22F-D4P2N103 drive has V/Hz control and provides slip compensation. It facilitates saving of adequate panel space with its Zero Stacking feature. Features such as the relay precharge and the settable DIP switch limits the current inrush and provides flexibility in the control wiring. It also comes with drive overload protection and ramp regulation. The 22F-D4P2N103 drive uses the Logix control platform to simplify parameters and tag programming and this, in turn, reduces development time.
