The Allen-Bradley 25C-D043N114 is an AC drive from the PowerFlex 527 product line. The PowerFlex 527 series provides high-performance for motors with output ratings as high as 30 HP and 22 kW. These drives can work only with the ControlLogix 1756-L7x, the GuardLogix 1756-L7xS, and the CompactLogix™ 5370 controllers and with the Studio 5000 Logix Designer application. This series of drives is designed for machines like pumps, fans, and in-feed and out-feed conveyors – which require speed control for the induction motors.

The 25C-D043N114 belongs to the 480V AC class of drives. The range of input voltages is from 323-528V AC (3-phase) at 50-60 Hz. The drive supports an EMC filter on the input side. The drive’s safety ground must be connected to the system ground. It does not include any branch short-circuit protection. Use input fuses or an input circuit breaker to prevent short-circuits. The maximum input power is 35.6 KVA and the maximum input current rating is 38.9 A. The 25C-D043N114 provides a 0 - 460V AC 3-phase output. It is available on a normal duty (ND) and a heavy duty (HD) configuration. For the ND configuration, the output is rated at 30 HP/22 kW and the HD configuration is rated at 25 HP/18.5 kW. In ND configuration, the drive can sustain 110% overload for up to 60s and 150% overload for up to 3s (for 20 HP & above). In HD configuration, the drive can sustain 150% overload for 60 seconds and 180% overload for 3 seconds (200% - 3 secs programmable). The output current is 43A and the maximum output frequency is 590 Hz.

The 25C-D043N114 drive supports the following motor control algorithms: the volts per hertz, the sensorless vector control, and the closed loop velocity vector control.  The drive includes built-in dual Ethernet ports for communications. The following control I/O are available on the 25C-D043N114 drive: 4 digital inputs (24V DC, 3 of which programmable), 2 analog inputs (1 bipolar voltage, 1 current), 2 digital outputs, 1 analog output (1 unipolar voltage or current), and 2 relays (1 form A relay and 1 form B relay; 24V DC, 120V AC, 240V AC). The maximum allowed cable size on the control terminal I/O block is 1.3 mm2 (16 AWG) and the minimum is 0.13 mm2 (26 AWG). The range of torque is 0.71 - 0.86 Nm (6.2 - 7.6 lb-in.)

The 25C-D043N114’s minimum operating temperature is -20ºC (-4 ºF). The maximum operating temperature depends on the mounting and whether the cooling fan is used: with vertical/horizontal mounting and the control module fan, it is 70 ºC (158 ºF), with vertical/horizontal mounting, zero stacking, and the control module fan, it is 65 ºC (149 ºF). The 25C-D043N114 drive is enclosed in an IP20-rated NEMA (open) “E”-sized frame with dimensions of 280 x 185 x 279 mm and weighs 12.9 Kg. The power dissipation during operation is 697 W. The cooling fan should be protected from dust and metallic particles and the drive should be installed so that it is not exposed to moisture and direct sunlight. Care must also be taken to prevent debris from entering the vents in the drive housing during installation.
