The Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley 20AC060A0AYNADNN is a motor controller with user-adjustable frequency. The controller belongs to the PowerFlex 70 family of drives from Allen-Bradley. The 20AC060A0AYNADNN accommodates a voltage of 400 Volts AC coming from a 6-pulse 3-phase power supply. Additionally, the input voltage for the controller should have a frequency of 50 Hertz. Although the controller can be interfaced with a range of communication networks on the industrial floor, it comes fitted with a DeviceNet communication port. The 20AC060A0AYNADNN only supports standard control of its inputs and outputs. The Rockwell Automation 20AC060A0AYNADNN belongs to the filtered emissions class, and it does not contain an internal brake resistor but it contains a brake IGBT. The brake helps in dissipating a motor’s regenerative energy.

The 20AC060A0AYNADNN accommodates output contactors which are placed between the controller and the motor. Contactors are used when either isolating or disconnecting specific loads or motors. Opening the contactor removes power from a motor. Note that even when the operating power is cut from reaching the motor, the output terminals of the 20AC060A0AYNADNN have an active voltage. Additionally, the controller is bound to display a fault if a motor is re-connected by closing a previously open external contactor. The fault emanates from large currents produced during re-connection. To prevent the currents from damaging the controller, the output contactor’s auxiliary contact wire should be connected to the ‘Enable’ digital input on the 20AC060A0AYNADNN. This wiring prevents the 20AC060A0AYNADNN from having an active voltage on its output terminals once a contactor is opened.
