The Allen-Bradley 20AD2P1A0AYNNNN is a PowerFlex 70 AC drive that provides different control modes for 3-phase motors. Allen-Bradley’s engineers have implemented the most advanced control algorithms, like the Volt per Hertz Control, Sensorless Vector Control, and the Flux Vector Control into the 20AD2P1A0AYNNNN to make the motor speed control perfect. The drive must be connected to 480 Volts AC voltage and it must be properly protected from overvoltage and overcurrent events. Although this device has internal protective mechanisms, the users should give it additional protection against problems like overloads that are due to excessive currents which can cause overheating. This motor will show the users an alarm and stop the motor if this happens. The drive is also sensitive to overheating. The users should install this IP20 protected module in electrical cabinets with intake vents located in the lower part of the cabinet.
One of these vents should have a fan on it. Exhaust vents should be located near the top. The taller the cabinet that implements this type of convection cooling is, the more efficient this system gets because it uses a “chimney effect”.
