The 20AD8P0A0AYNNNNN is an AC drive designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. This drive comes from the PowerFlex 70 drive family. It is an adjustable frequency drive which runs on 480 Volts of AC voltage. The amperage rating for this drive is 8 Amps. The factory-rated power output is 5 Horsepower. It is a 3-phase device and it has a Frame B body. The drive comes inside a NEMA/UL Type 1 enclosure which can be mounted using a panel mounting base. The enclosure of the drive is not water resistant and it has been certified with an IP20 rating. Special care should be taken during the installation and the operation of the drive. The 20AD8P0A0AYNNNNN has a blank cover on its front and a human interface module is missing in this variant. The safe torque-off feature and the encoder feedback is also not present.

The drive comes equipped with an IGBT braking system which makes use of switching regenerative energy. A braking resistor is not present in this drive. The drive can be controlled with different algorithms. The 20AD8P0A0AYNNNNN includes the Volt/Hertz control, Vector control, and the Sensorless Vector control. The drive can be used for regulating the speed of both open-loop and closed-loop device. The drive can only be operated at a surrounding room temperature ranging from 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and it can be stored at an ambient temperature between -40 and 70 degrees Celsius. The drive has a voltage tolerance from a minimum of -10% to a maximum of 10%. The 20AD8P0A0AYNNNNN comes with a heatsink thermistor. The thermistor is controlled by using a microprocessor. It trips for excessive temperatures inside the drive. The drive uses a fan for cooling purposes. The fan comes into motion when power is supplied to the drive or when the drive is running.
