The PowerFlex 70 series is a family of advanced AC drives manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The drives can be programmed through either an LCD or LED HMI. The DriveExecutive and DriveExplorer software can also be used for drive programming from a computer. Typical applications for this drive family include fan and extruder applications. The available output ratings for PowerFlex 70 drives include 0.5 to 25 Horsepower for 240 Volts AC input, 0.5 to 50 Horsepower for 480 Volts AC input, and 0.5 to 50 Horsepower for 600 Volts AC input. The supported control methods are vector control with Force Technology, sensorless vector control, and Volts per Hertz control.
PowerFlex 70 drives are available in the following enclosures: IP 20 NEMA /UL type 1 for mounting either inside or outside a control cabinet, IP 66 NEMA/UL types 4X/12 for indoor use, flange types for mounting a heatsink through the back of the enclosure, and Zero Stacking for the adjacent mounting of drives without an ambient temperature rating reduction. The integrated features available on PowerFlex 70 drives include EMC filtering, a dynamic brake resistor, and a communications interface. Multiple optional communication adapters are also available. Features such as slip compensation, safe torque-off, droop control, inertia ride-through, PI control, and user control sets are also available. Environmental specifications for PowerFlex 70 drives include a working temperature range of 32 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit for both IP 20 and flange mounted drives. The working temperature range for IP 66 drives is from 32 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The recommended range for the relative humidity is from 0 to 95%.
