The Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation 1398-DDM-030X servo drive is a Bulletin 1398 servo drive from the ULTRA 200 series. It operates on a single-phase voltage source with a continuous output power rating of 3000 Watts. The 1398-DDM-030X servo drive can be connected to an Allen-Bradley brushless servo motor and operate with the servo motor at a continuous torque rating of 3 to 450 pounds on an inch and at a peak torque rating of 9 to 1100 pounds on an inch. The 1398-DDM-030X servo drive is one of the only Bulletin 1398 Allen-Bradley servo drives that supports indexing. The single-phase power source that it uses has a voltage range of 100 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency.

The 1398-DDM-030X ULTRA 200 digital servo drive by Allen-Bradley lets users manage and monitor machine velocity, position, and current via a Motorola 68HC16 microcontroller. It allows interface through the digital and analog inputs and outputs. The digital input interface of the 1398-DDM-030X ULTRA is a selectable, 24-volt optically-isolated circuit input, and a 5.0mA input channel sink digital ENABLE input interface that controls the ENABLE and DISABLE functions of the drive. The 1398-DDM-030X has two discrete output circuit connected via the J1 connector.

The digital output interface of the 1398-DDM-030X comprises the dedicated relay outputs (which are rated 1 Amps at 50 Volts and DRIVE READY rated at 100mA at 50 Volts) and the selectable transistor based outputs (OUTPUT 1, OUTPUT 2, OUTPUT 3, OUTPUT 4.) The analog interface comprises two input interfaces (current limiting input and the command support input), and two analog output interfaces (Analog 1 and Analog 2**)**. The 1398-DDM-030X ULTRA is CE marked, and UL and cUL certified, and it also comes in a certified NEMA 12 enclosure type. It has an adjustable automatic sensing and fused power output encoder interface rated at 5 to 7 Volts. It also has a 5 Volts power supply encoder motor output, with 200% overload protection for 8 minutes., and 600% motor overload protection for 20 seconds.

The 1398-DDM-030X come with a 512 KB user parameter memory with 24 KB of RAM and a 128 KB flash memory with a 20 -year data retention value. The 1398-DDM-030X has an auxiliary input voltage rating RMS of 100 to 240 Volts AC at 1.0 Amps RMS (100 Volts) current and 0.5 Amps RMS (240 Volts) with a frequency between 47 and 63 Hertz.
