The 1398-DDM-150X Ultra 200 servo drive is a digital drive system by Allen-Bradley, which monitors and controls the position, current, and velocity of machines via microcontrollers. The 1398-DDM-150X comes with a built-in power supply and shunt regulator. The 1398-DDM-150X has an auxiliary AC input nominal voltage between 100 and 240 Volts at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz and an R.M.S current of 1.0 Amps (at 100 Volts) and 05 Amps (at 250 Volts). It also has a main input voltage range between 100 and 240 Volts AC at a 47 to 63 Hertz frequency and a current of 46 Amps.
It has an output current of 65 Amps and a BUS voltage of 141 to 339 Volts DC. The 1398-DDM-150X comes with an inbuilt shunt module with the following power rating ratings (1) peak shunt power of 18kW with a continuous power of 180W, (2) Shunt BUS capacitance energy absorption of 226 joules between 325 and 420 Volts. The 1398-DDM-150X normally does not require an external shunt, but it can support one with a peak power rating of 19kW. The 1398-DDM-150X has a power dissipation of 500W and a modulated frequency of 5 kHz for control. The 1398-DDM-150X has two Motorola 68HC16 microcontrollers for managing current and velocity of drives, and 34 KB of RAM. It has a 512KB user parameter memory with 20 years of data retention. It offers motor overload protection at 200% for 8 minutes and at 600% overload for 20 seconds. Its dimensions are 14.20 x 8.00 x 8.84 inches (360.7 x 203.20 x 224.50 millimeters) and its weight is 14.06 kilograms (31.0 pounds). It features input and output interfaces and a J1 Connector for connection to a host computer and a controller.
The digital I/O interface provides external devices with a 5 or 24 Volts DC current control. The 24 Volts DC digital I/O power control allows for a maximum current of 500mA while the 5 Volts DC control allows for a maximum 250mA current. The digital interface has an input and an output control. The digital input of the 1398-DDM-150X prevents disconnection and ground faults. The digital input has 5 selectable circuit inputs for regulating drive functions and an ENABLE input for enabling and disabling drives. The 1398-DDM-150X also has a digital output (dedicated relay output and a selectable transistor base output.) It has analog input and output interface for monitoring of drives mode and functions. The analog input controls are two types, the current limiting circuit input (which supports 0 to 10 Volts control signal), and the command input (which support a 0 to 10 Volts command signal). The analog outputs are Analog 1 (J1-30 connector), and Analog 2 (J1-31 connector).
