The Allen-Bradley 1398-PDM-150B is a Positioning Drive Module (PDM). This module is primarily used for implementing motion control and integrates sinusoidal brushless motor velocity controller and into a single package. The 1398-PDM-150B uses a microprocessor to implement Torque, Position and Velocity control and this single-processor arrangement minimizes the interference sensitivities by analog motion control systems. The 1398-PDM-150B operates when supplied with input voltage of 100-240VAC, 3-Phase and delivers peak output current of 150 A; Continuous output current of 65 A and continuous output power of 15 kW. Communication can be established via P6 Serial Computer port. Other ports available to the 1398-PDM-150B are P1 Discrete Input connectors; P2 Combination Discrete I/O ports, P3 Status / Analog I/O port; P4 Encoder 2 Auxiliary port; P5 Encoder 1 port; and P7 Serial 1 Auxiliary. Motor power connection can be established via the Terminal Strip 1 (TB1) terminal; TB2 External shunt port terminal and grounding connections. The 1398-PDM-150B must be mounted to on a flat, grounded surface. Additionally, it is recommended to be installed when drilling, cutting and welding activities are completed as these activities may potentially damage the module due to metal chipping and surge current that may be produced by such activities. Recommended enclosure for mounting is at least IP54. It must be installed in an environment without presence of oil, mist, corrosive gasses and chemicals, conductive particles and water.

The Allen-Bradley 1398-PDM-150B is a servo drive called a Positioning Drive Module (PDM). The 1398-PDM-150B 3-phase input power is 115 or 230V AC. Its maximum power loss is 500 W plus the dissipative shunt.
