The 150-A35JB is part of Allen-Bradley’s SMC-2 Product Family of the Smart Motor Controller series. This controller is typically referred to as a motor starter, primarily used to implement efficient starting and stoppage of industrial AC motors. This device contributes to a lowered energy consumption by limiting unwanted levels of current to be generated by the motor as well as limit the mechanical stresses caused by sudden motor change in rotational direction. This soft starter is a panel mounted device with input line voltage of 380-460V AC, 3-phase at frequency range of 50-60 Hz. The 150-A35JB rated output current is 35 Amperes, with maximum HP ratings of 10 HP at 200 / 230 VAC, 25 HP at 460 VAC and 30 HP at 575 VAC while the maximum kW ratings are 10 kW at 200 VAC; 18.5 kW at 380 VAC, 22 kW at 415 / 500 VAC. Control methods supported by this controller includes Selectable Soft Start with configurable start times of 2, 5, 10, 20, 25, and 30 seconds; Current Limit with adjustable times of 15-30 Seconds, Across-the-Line Starting with adjustable time of 1/10 second and Soft Stop with configurable start times of 5, 10, 15, 25, 35, 45, 55, 110 seconds. The 150-A35JB comes with internal protection particularly DV/DT Protection through the installed RC Snubber network while the controllers Noise and Radio Frequency (RF immunity is rated 3400V Surge Transient Peak while the showering arc rating is 150 V. Optional Metal Oxide Varistors (MOV) may be installed to this controller to enable transient protection.
