The 150-A54NBND-8L4 solid-state soft starter by Allen Bradley is designed to optimize motor performance and extend equipment life. Rated for a current of 54 Amps, this unit drives motors with outputs of 40 horsepower at 460 Volts AC. It accepts a three-phase input supply in the range of 380 to 480 Volts AC and functions effectively at supply frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz.
For improved control, the starter can utilize a 120 volts AC control supply as an option. Its flexible start modes allow for soft starting, current limiting, or full voltage application according to specific operational needs. With adjustable start times available from 0.1 to 4.5 seconds, users can tailor the ramp to suit their applications.
The current limit feature is adjustable from 25 to 550% of the full-load amperage, providing operational flexibility while protecting against overloads. For immediate full-voltage starts, it enables ramp times of less than 0.1 seconds. Also included is a controlled deceleration option for soft stopping, ensuring smoother transitions when halting motor functions.
The energy saver feature activates during low load conditions, promoting efficiency. Featuring a repetitive peak inverse voltage rating of 1400 V PIV, it withstands significant voltage stresses. Protection against transients and rapid voltage changes is provided through RC snubber and MOV technology, enhancing the robustness of the soft starter's operation.
