The Allen-Bradley 150-B135NCD SMC Dialog Plus Smart Motor Starter is a microprocessor-based motor controller in the Bulletin 150 series of smart motor controllers which provides microprocessor starting and stopping for 3-phase induction motors. This controller has a modularly built self-containing control module, which is field installable on a power module without additional wiring, and it offers 4 start modes (the Dual Ramp, Full Voltage, Current Limit, and the Soft Start with Selectable Kick-Start) as standard features. The 150-B135NCD has a nominal output current rating of 135 Amps, with 200 to 575 Volts AC (3-phase) voltage, and an output power range of 5 to 100 Horsepower. This controller has a self-contained control module which provides digital control and it consists of SCR firing circuitry, and a self -tuning circuitry that is capable of accepting 100 to 240 Volts AC control power. The control module is designed for 2-wire control, but it uses a latch circuit for 3-wire control, and its SCR firing circuitry is incorporated with the snubber network to prevent abnormal SCR firing.
The 150-B135NCD has a heatsink mounted power module with 1600 Volts peak inverse voltage, and with an IEC rated impulse voltage of 6000 Volts. Like every SMC Dialog controller, it is designed to be self-monitoring, with a built-in protective feature, and it can automatically detect faults, and it inhibit the device from starting or shutting down the SCR pulse firing in the event of a fault. The 150-B135NCD is digitally configured by using the built-in keypad, with an Alpha-Numeric LCD that shows 2 lines of text with up to 16 characters, and which is also used for fault diagnosing via its descriptive text display. The 150-B135NCD has an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and a storage temperature range of –20 to 75 degrees Celsius. It weighs approximately 26 pounds, with a total shipping volume of 13.2 x 9.8 x 10.1 inches, and it is designed to meet the EN, IEC, UL, CSA, NEMA, and VDE requirements.
