The Allen-Bradley 150-B135NCDA SMC Dialog Plus Smart Motor Controller is an intelligent solid state motor starter in the SMC 150 family which provides microprocessor-based starting for 3-phase induction motors in industrial applications. This motor controller features the soft start with selectable kick start, the current limit start, the full voltage start, and the dual ramp start as the standard starting modes, and it also features an additional soft stop control option that is suitable for applications requiring an extended coast to rest stopping method. The 150-B135NCDA has an operating voltage range of 200 to 575 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz line frequency, with a nominal output rating of 135 Amps, and it is designed for applications with 5 to 100 Horsepower output power. This controller has a self-sustaining logic module (control module), with auto-tuning circuits that are capable of accepting 100 to 240 Volts AC control voltage, and which digitally control all operations including the SCR firing. It also has a power module with 1600 Volts peak inverse voltage, and with a minimum thermal capacity rating of 600% of the nominal rating for 10 seconds.

The 150-B135NCDA has built-in protection against overload, under load, over voltage, under voltage, phase reversal, voltage unbalance, and over temperature situations, and it has stall and jam detection. It has 2 and 3-wire control wiring configurations designed for a wide range of applications and it is easily configured by using the front panel’s fixed programming keypad and a 2 lines by 16 characters backlight LCD. The 150-B135NCDA has 3 programmable auxiliary contacts configured for normal, up to speed, or for fault detection. It has a wide operating temperature range of 0 to 50 degree Celsius, at a non-condensing 5 to 95% relative humidity level, and it has a storage shipping temperature of –20 to 75 degrees Celsius.
