The Allen-Bradley 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller is an intelligent motor controller from the high-performance SMC Dialog Plus series of controllers that are designed to provide microcomputer control of 3-phase induction motors. The SMC Dialog plus motor controllers feature a compact design and minimal parts for easy installation, setup, control, and operation processes. The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller features real-time protective features that help to prevent costly downtime and unscheduled maintenance. The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller has a current rating of 180 Amps, with 200 to 480 Volts AC operating voltage range (at 50 to 60 Hertz), and a 3-phase control voltage range of 100 to 240 Volts AC. It offers up to 2200 Volts AC dielectric withstand, and an inverse voltage of up to 1400 Volts. The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller has advanced built-in protection from overloads, stalling, jam detection, phase imbalance, and excessive hourly starts. It features an energy-saving function that saves energy on low-load applications or when the motor is unloaded for a longer period.
The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller offers 4 standard starting modes which are the soft start with the selectable kick start, current limit start, dual ramp start, and the full voltage start, and an optional soft stop mode that is useful for applications requiring an extended stop. The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller has a serial interface port for connecting compatible Allen-Bradley 1201 human-machine interface modules and 1203 communication modules for a wider range of more sophisticated connectivity with the Remote I/O, DeviceNet, ControlNet, and the RS 232/422/485-DF1 networks. It is programmed locally by using the built-in 2 lines by 16 characters backlit LCD and a 5-button programming keypad. The 150-B180NBDA smart motor controller has 3 programmable auxiliary contacts that can be programmed for normal or up to speed control and normal/fault operation. It has an operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius and it comes in a NEMA open type of enclosure.
