The Allen-Bradley 150-B35NBDA-J1 Smart Motor Controller is solid state intelligent motor controller in the SMC Dialog family of digitally controlled motor starters which provide microprocessor-based control for 3-phase induction motors. This motor controller has a compact modular design which allows for easy field installation and it offers users 4 standard operation modes within a single package (the full voltage start, current limit start, dual ramp start, and the soft start with a selectable kick-start). The 150-B35NBDA-J1 has 1 to 25 Horsepower output power range with a nominal current rating of 35 Amps, and it has a 3-phase 200 to 460 Volts AC voltage class. The 150-B35NBDA-J1 has a heatsink-mounted integral power module with 1400 Volts of inverse voltage and a 2200 Volts UL-rated dielectric withstand. It also has a control module with digital control over all operations, including the SCR pulse firing, and this self-containing control consists of a self-tuning power supply (capable of receiving 100 to 240 Volts AC control voltage), an RC network, embedded SCR firing circuitry, and a latch circuit for 3-wiring control.
Aside the standard Soft Start, Current Limit Start, Full Voltage Start, and Dual Ramp Start modes, the 150-B35NBDA-J1 also offers a soft stop option which allows users to independently adjust the voltage ramp down time anywhere between 0 and 60 seconds, especially in applications requiring coast-to-rest stopping. Users can easily configure the operation parameters by using the front panel fixed programming keypad, and a built-in LCD, which also shows the diagnostics, controller status, and operation setup in plain text. The 150-B35NBDA-J1 has a built-in serial communication port which provides an interface to optional communication protocol interface modules like the Remote I/O, DH485, DeviceNet, and the RS 232/422/485. It has a rated operating temperature range of 0 and 50 degrees Celsius, and a storage temperature range of –20 and 75 degrees Celsius. The 150-B35NBDA-J1 weighs approximately 6.8 kilograms (15 pounds) with average mounting dimensions of 240 x 214 x 195 millimeters (9.45 x 8.4 x 7.68 inches), and it is CE, c-UL-us, CSA, and CCC certified.
