The Allen-Bradley 150-B35NBDD SMC Dialog Plus Smart Motor Starter is a microprocessor-based motor controller and a member of the SMC Dialog Plus Family of the digital motor controllers that are used for providing a digital start for 3-phase induction motors. The 150-B35NBDD features built-in protection features with the standard soft start, current limit, dual ramp, and the full voltage start modes, and it also offers optional Smart Motor Braking (SMB) that is used in applications requiring reduced stopping time. It has a 3-phase voltage rating between 200 and 460 Volts AC, with a nominal current rating of 35 Amps, and it can be used in applications with output power rated between 1 and 25 Horsepower. The 150-B35NBDD has a self-containing control module consisting of a self-tuning circuit, a power supply, and integral SCR firing circuitry. Its control circuit is designed to accept 100 Volts AC to 240 Volts AC control power, and its SCR circuitry provides SCR-controlled pulse firing and it is protected from false firing via an incorporated RC network.

The 150-B35NBDD’s control module controls all the operations of the controller, and it comes with 3 additional programmable auxiliary contacts that are programmable for normal and up to speed operation and fault detection. The serial communication port also provides a direct interface to optional HMIs (human-machine interface modules), and like every starter in the series, this motor controller can be wired for 2 and 3-wire wiring control. The 150-B35NBDD has an operating ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius, with a –20 to 75 degrees Celsius storage temperature range, and it is built to withstand up to 15 G of operating shock.
