The SMC Dialog Plus 150-B500NBDA from Allen Bradley is a smart controller which provides 500 Amps and 4 to 400 Horsepower output with 460 Volts AC input. The 150-B500NBDA, in addition to the standard motor starting modes, also supports the soft stop mode which can be used with applications where an extended coast to rest is required. This mode is specifically designed for frictional loads that have a tendency for suddenly stopping when the voltage is removed from the motor. With soft stop mode, the voltage ramp down time can be configured from 0 to 60 seconds. The 150-B500NBDA requires a 3-phase input voltage, ranging between 200 and 460 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz frequency. The supply voltage required by control module is 100 to 240 Volts AC.
Integrated HMI on the 150-B500NBDA comprises of a keypad and LCD display. A built-in serial interface port allows connection to an optional Bulletin 1201 HMI modules. It can also be used to connect with optional Bulletin 1203 communication modules including Remote I/O, RS-232/422/485-DF1 and DeviceNet. The open 150-B500NBDA measures 588 x 508 x 311 millimeters. It has an approximate weight of 40.8 kilograms. To keep heat dissipation below maximum rated value of 1400 Watts, a heatsink fan is integrated into the controller. The heatsink fan requires either 110 to 120 Volts AC or 220 to 240 Volts AC, and a 145 VA power. The operational vibration rating is 1.0G (peak) with 0.006 inches displacement. The operational shock rating is 15G.
