The 40382-809-05 Power Pole is an industrial device which is manufactured by Allen-Bradley. It is an SMC power pole and it is part of a versatile product line of power and connector devices that meet a wide range of industrial power and connection needs. The 4 housing sizes available in this series can carry a wide range of wire sizes in the most compact devices. The Power Poles handle currents of up to 350 Amps with wire sizes of 20 AWG (0.75 mm²) to 30 AWG (70 mm²). The 40382-809-05 Power Pole features a flat wiping contact system that allows for minimal contact resistance during a high current wiping action that cleans contact surfaces during the connection and disconnection processes. It also features a pp10 pin and socket series connector, which is designed as a ground terminal.

The Allen-Bradley SMC 40382-809-05 Power Pole provides 600 Volts continuous AC or DC voltage for operation. Its wire sizes range from 14 to 16 AWG (2.1 to 1.3 square millimeters) and they can be assembled with standard power pole connectors, and 30-pin and socket series connectors that are also designed as the ground terminals for a first break or last connection and that also provide 600 Volts AC or DC voltage. The 40382-809-05 Power Pole can also be used for the wire to wire, wire to board, and wire to bus bar applications, with wire sizes from 1.3 square millimeters to 13.3 square millimeters that can offer power capabilities of up to 120 Amps.
