The Allen-Bradley 40888-490-01-D1CX SMC Dialog Plus series smart controller is a smart motor braking control module from the Bulletin 150 SMC Dialog Plus accessories series. This control module is designed for the SMC Dialog Plus controllers and it is compatible with the 180 Amps to 360 Amps-rated controllers. The 40888-490-01-D1CX control module accepts 100 to 240 Volts AC at 50 to 60 Hertz of single-phase control power input and it has a maximum power requirement of 40 Volt-Amps (VA). Like every SMC Dialog Plus controller module, the 40888-490-01-D1CX control module supports the 4 standard operating modes which are the soft start, current limit start, dual ramp start, and the full voltage start. This controller also comes with the smart motor braking stopping option.
The 40888-490-01-D1CX control module uses a microprocessor-based control system that applies braking current to a standard squirrel cage induction motor while providing the operators with an adjustable current range from 0 to 400% of the full load current in a wide range of applications that require reduced stopping times. This option also provides automatic shut-off when the controller stalls (zero speed detection). Other standard features for this module include metering, excessive temperature monitoring via internal thermistors, underload protection via a programmable underload setting of 0 to 99% of FLA rating, jam detection, stall protection, motor overload protection, phase rebalance, energy saver, and line fault protection features for errors such as power losses and shorted SCRs. The 40888-490-01-D1CX control module comes with a built-in serial port (SCANport) for Remote I/O, DH-485 or RS-232 (DF-1), DeviceNet, and Flex I/O communication via the Bulletin 1203 communication modules, and also for connecting to the Bulletin 1201 Human-Machine Interface (HMI) modules.
