The 40888-490-01-S1FX SMC Dialog Plus smart controller is a replacement controller for the standard 120 to 240 Volts AC rated standard control modules. This control module is part of the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 150 SMC Dialog Plus smart motor controller series. The 40888-490-01-S1FX smart controller is compatible with all SMC Dialog Plus controller ratings. The 40888-490-01-S1FX controller has an AC rating, and it is designed to accept 100 to 240 Volts AC (+10/-15%) single-phase control power input at 50/60 Hertz. This control module has a maximum control power requirement of 40 Volt-Amps. The 40888-490-01-S1FX smart control module can be programmed via a built-in keypad and a 2-line by 16-character LCD screen, or with an optional Bulletin 1201 human-machine interface module that is connected via a built-in serial port called the SCANport.

The 40888-490-01-S1FX SMC Dialog Plus smart controller supports a wide range of industrial communication options such as SLC communication, Flex I/O communication, DH-485/RS-232(DF-1) communication, Remote I/O communication, and DeviceNet communication via the Allen-Bradley Bulletin 1203 communication modules. The 40888-490-01-S1FX controller supports the standard soft start with selectable kick start mode, the current limit start mode, the dual ramp start mode, and the full voltage start mode. It also comes with built-in diagnostic and protective features such as the energy saver feature for lightly loaded applications, the phase rebalance feature which enables the controller to continuously monitor incoming 3-phase line voltage, and the electronic motor overload protection feature that works via built-in overload algorithm controls. Other standard protective features include the stall protection, jam detection, open gate fault detection, line fault protection (power loss, line fault, shorted SCR, etc,), underload protection, over-temperature protection via internally installed thermistors, and the metering features.
