The Allen Bradley 150-F43NCD, as part of the SMC-Flex series, is engineered as a solid-state soft starter. It is designed to start motors smoothly and reliably. Operational voltage for this device varies from 200 to 600 volts AC, with a tolerance range of -15% to +10%. The current rating for the controller reaches up to 43 amps, which is suitable for motors rated at a maximum of 30 horsepower when connected at 460 volts and 40 horsepower at 575 volts.

This model uses a control circuit voltage ranging from 100 to 240 volts AC, making it adaptable for various system setups. It contains three power poles for effective control and is compatible with line frequencies of both 50 and 60 Hz. The unit incorporates an internal bypass contactor to facilitate seamless operation. The integrated display and keypad facilitate easy configuration and monitoring.

For protection against motor overload, this soft starter uses electronic overload sensors, adhering to trip classes 10 to 30 to ensure safe operation. The auxiliary contacts offer four programmable options with a maximum rating of 3A at 120 volts AC. Moreover, it boasts a short-circuit current rating of 70 kA at 600 volts when combined with Class J or L fuses. Additionally, optional SMB braking is available to implement braking capabilities, allowing for up to 400% current as needed, enhancing the control over motor stopping times.
