The 150-F85NBR is a Smart Motor Controller (SMC) from Allen-Bradley. It is specifically part of the SMC Flex product family, which is more popularly termed as a Motor Soft-Starter. It is mainly used to implement different starting and stopping modes such as Soft Start, Kickstart, Current Limit, Pump, Control, Dual ramp start, Full Voltage Start, Coast, Soft Stop, and Smart Motor Braking. Aside from controlled starting and stopping operation, the 150-F85NBR can be used to lower power consumption which contributes to reduced cost of operation of the control system. This Smart Motor Controller (SMC) has a line voltage requirement of 200-460VAC, 3-Phase, operable at both 50 and 60Hz. It may also be used with Line connected and Delta-connected motors wherein, the output power and output current ratings vary, specifically, of 25 - 60 HP @ 60 Hz; 22 - 45 kW @ 50 Hz and output current range of 17-85 Amperes. For Delta-connected motors, it has an output power range of 40 - 100 HP @ 60 Hz; 45 - 75 kW @ 50 Hz, and an output current range of 29.4-147 Amperes. The 150-F85NBR is specifically compatible for use with a standard squirrel-cage induction motor or a Wye-Delta, Six-lead AC motor. It comes with a built-in front keypad with a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen while optionally supporting a 20-HIM-A keypad module which directly attached to the built-in DPI port of the controller. In addition to controlled starting and stopping characteristics, the 150-F85NBR has a built-in metering capability which can be used to measure Amps, Volts, kW, kWh, MW, MWH, elapsed time, power factor, and motor thermal capacity usage.

The Allen-Bradley 150-F85NBR is an enclosed SMC Flex smart motor controller used with line-connected motors, specifically Wye-Delta (6-lead) and standard three-phase squirrel-cage motors. This three-phase, non-combination controller with an input line voltage of 400 to 460V AC at 50 and 60 Hz frequency, controller ratings of 85 A, 60 HP at 460V AC, and control voltage of 24V AC/DC. At 200/208V AC rated voltage, it has a motor current that ranges from 17 to 85 A and 25 HP at the maximum at 60 Hz. Note that this controller comes with load terminal lugs and it requires a 120V or 240V standalone single-phase power supply for the fan operation of the 150-F85NBR controller. Make sure to run this controller at temperatures ranging from -5 to 40 deg. C and to store it somewhere that has a -20 to 75 deg. C ambient temperature. Seven start and stop modes are available for the 150-F85NBR controller and these are the dual ramp, preset slow speed, soft stop, full voltage, linear speed acceleration, current limit start, and the soft start. Detectable faults on this controller are voltage unbalance, power loss, overvoltage, communication fault, overload, underload, phase reversal, open gate, undervoltage, jam, stall, excessive starts per hour, line fault, and controller temp. Other features of this controller include built-in electronic motor overload protection and an SCR bypass/run contactor. The 150-F85NBR controller comes with a backlit LCD, LED status indicators, 4 auxiliary contacts (each of them are fully programmable), and a keypad input.
