The 196482 (2098-DSD-HV220-SE) Ultra 3000 High-Voltage Digital Servo Drive with SERCOS interface, by Allen-Bradley is a 480V AC (3-phase) drive with an input current of 28A (nom) and an output power of 22KW used for control of servo motors. The 196482 has an auxiliary input rating 0.24A with a 68A peak surge and an output current of 94A (intermittent) and with 219 Joules absorption capability. It has an internal capacitance of 1880μF and provides overvoltage protection at 810V DC. The 196482 comes with a pre-installed 32KW (peak) internal shunt with 20Ω resistance and an ON/OFF shunt voltage of 800 and 750V DC and is requires a recommended 32KW rated external shunt with also 20Ω resistance. The 196482’s main input circuitry is fussed with 460V AC-rated Class J fuse (Bussman) and it employs a 460V AC contactor but it lacks a circuit breaker. The drive has a commutation with space vector modulated frequencies of 4 or 8 kHz and it provides positioning through the Intelligent, Incremental, Absolute, and Sine/Cosine motor feedback encoders. The 196482 also provides velocity and current control using a Digital PID and a Digital PI with update rates of 250μs and 125μs respectively. It has 8 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs which are optically-isolated and it has a single Normally-Open relay output rated at 30V DC and 1A. It also has 2 analog inputs with a single analog output and it has an I/O response time of 100μsec. The 196482 communicates through the RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 port using the serial port connector (CN3) and it has an additional SERCOS network capability with 4 and 8-Mbp data transfer speed via the SERCOS interface connector on the front panel. It has 600W (plus dissipative shunt) power dissipation and it operates at a temperature range of 0-55° C at 5-95% non-condensing relative humidity range.
