The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-005X is an indexing servo drive that is part of the Ultra 3000 series. This drive has is operated when supplied with an input supply voltage of 100-240VAC rms, 1-phase along an input frequency range of 47-63 Hz. It has applicable motor output ratings of continuous output current (0-pk) is 2.5 A and intermittent output current (0-pk) is 7.5 A while the continuous output power is 0.25 kW at 115VAC and 0.5 kW at 230VAC input. This drive is capable of indexing function. With drive indexing, pre-set motion path can be defined for a standardized operation. This is application in processes or systems with repeated routines or operations or products with uniform parameters. Some accessories available to the 2098-DSD-005X include external AC line filter with catalog number 2090-UXLF-106; Active shunt module with catalog number 2090-UCSR-A300; Serial cable interface with catalog number 2090-UXPC-D09xx; Controller interface cable with pre-molded connector with catalog number 2090-U3AE-D44xx and controller interface cable for single-axis to no connector with catalog number 2090-U3CC-D44xx. The 2098-DSD-005X supports Serial Real-Time Communication System (SERCOS) for communication with servo motors that are SERCOS capable as well. Compatible servo motors for use with this drive are H-Series, F-Series, MP Series, 1326AB Series, Y-series servo motors.

The 2098-DSD-005X Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Indexing Drive by Allen-Bradley is a high-performance digital servo drive used for the motion control of a wide range of applications. It is a single-phase drive with an input rating of 100-240V AC at 47-63Hz and with a nominal input current of 5A and a surge of 100A. The 2098-DSD-005X has a nominal output rating of 2.5A (continuous) which peaks at 7.5A (intermittent) with a bus capacitance of 1410 ?F and provides 400V DC BUS over-voltage protection. The drive’s power output is 0.5kW and the total energy absorption capability is 38J at 230V AC. The 2098-DSD-005X’s circuit is protected with a 230V AC Class J and a Class CC busman fuse and it has a maximum power dissipation of 48W when operational. The 2098-DSD-005X has 8 optically-isolated 12-24V active high-current sinking digital inputs and 4 optically-isolated 12-24V current-sourcing digital outputs with 1 N.O. output (with 30V DC, max, 1 A, max rating) and an overall I/O response lag of 100?s. It also has a +/-10V, 2mA max analog output with 8 bits resolution. The drive communicates using the single RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 Serial port and the CN3, 9-pin female D-sub serial port connector and it has communication rates of 1200 through 38,400 bps. The 2098-DSD-005X has a functional temperature range between 0 oC and 55 oC (32 0F and 131 oF) at 5-95% noncondensing relative humidity and it is stored at temperature limits between -40 and 70 oC (-40 and 158 oF). It is designed to function optimally at a height of 1500 meters (4921.5ft) without de-rating and can withstand an operational shock of 15G and a vibration of 2.5G at 10-200Hz.
