The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-020-DN servo drive belongs to the Ultra3000 servo drive series. Working on a standard voltage rating of 230V AC, it is one of the most popular drive systems in the industry today. It supports both multi and single-indexing, though its exact capability depends upon the process for which it is being used. There are dedicated slots for establishing communication. DeviceNet can be configured easily to interface with the drive. Supporting explicit and device I/O messaging, the 2098-DSD-020-DN drive can be configured to the main commissioning system. There are 3 connector options used as switches between the breakout components.

This module is compatible with a variety of control architectures such as SLC, Logix, and other motion varied systems. Measuring just 3.46 x 0.97 x 1.73 inches, it is easy to transport. The 2098-DSD-020-DN uses the FND-R-20 fuse as the recommended fuse for the servo system. The ambient operating temperature ranges from 0-50 degrees Celsius. For safety precautions, always measure the DC bus voltage before working on the device, because the 2098-DSD-020-DN can retain hazardous voltage even after startup.

Branch circuit protection is created in the 2098-DSD-020-DN drive by using circuit breakers with the appropriate rating, depending upon the application. Make sure the motor is load-free when it starts to get power and avoid removing the panel when the power is being fed to prevent damage to the device or the personnel in the premises. The 7-segment indicator panel gives due information about the activities taking place in the drive.
