The 2098-DSD-020X Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive with Indexing by Allen-Bradley is a single-phase high-performance drive with 100-240V AC,18A (nom) and input ratings at 47-63Hz. The drive has a bus capacitance of 1880 µF and offers a 400V DC BUS overvoltage protection. The 2098-DSD-020X has a total output power of 2KW and with a maximum Energy Absorption Capability of 51 Joules. It is fused with the (LPJ-20SP) Class J and (FNQ-R-20) Class CC fuse and supports a 5V Auxiliary Logic supply. It auxiliary feedback has an A quad B, Step/Direction, CW/CCW input modes, with a 2.5MHz maximum input signal, and uses the selectable differential, single-ended, open collector input types. The 2098-DSD-020X dissipates 50W heat and is designed to operate in a working temperature range of 40-70°. Celsius (-40-158 deg. Fahrenheit) and relative humidity limits of 5-95% without condensation. The drive’s velocity regulator is a Proportional+Integral+Derivative (PID) with an update rate of 250 µs and it uses a Digital PID with feed-forward capability for positioning. The 2098-DSD-020X has 8 optically-isolated digital inputs and 4 optically-isolated outputs, with N.O. relay outputs with a rating of 30V DC maximum voltage and 1A maximum current. Communication with other devices is with the 9-pin female D-Sub Connector (CN3) serial port connector, the single RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial port with 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600, 19200, and 38400 baud communication speeds. It is designed to withstand a shock of 15G, and a vibration of 2.5G at 10-200Hz and will still function optimally at an altitude of 1500m (4921.5ft). The 2098-DSD-020X weighs approximately 2.1kg (4.6lbs), and its dimensions are 98.1mm x 32.77mm x 65.02mm.

The 2098-DSD-020X is designed to be used with fuse type of FNQ-R-20 Class CC fuse and LPJ-20SP Class J fuse. This Ultra drive has a nominal input current requirement of 18 A, rms and 100 Ampere for series A and B; 20 Ampere for series C drive at 230VAC (0-pk). This drive has a bus capacitance rating of 1880 µF and Bus Overvoltage of 400 VDC. It has an energy absorption capability of 125 Joules when drive is operated at 115VAC and 51 Joules at 230VAC input.

The 2098-DSD-020X are limited to One (1) contactor cycle every Two (2) minutes for Series A or B drives and one contactor cycle every Ten (10) Seconds for up to Two (2) minutes, not exceeding a maximum of 12 cycles in Five (5) Minutes for Series C 2098-DSD-020X drive.

The 2098-DSD-020X is designed to be operated at a temperature range of 0° C to 55° C (32° F to 131° F) and storage temperature of -40° C to 70° C (-40° F to 158° F) with 5-95% relative humidity. The drive’s operating altitude is 1500 meters without derating. Performance deration is observed 3% for every 300 m increase.
