The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-030-SE is an Ultra 3000 drive that has an integrated support for Serial Real-Time Communication System (SERCOS). This drive is part of the 2098 Digital Servo Drive product family. This drive has is powered by an external supply voltage of 100-240VAC, 1-Phase, along a frequency of 47-63 Hz. It has a nominal input current of 28 Ampere and 50 Ampere for 230VAC (0-pk) Max inrush.
The 2098-DSD-030-SE has an auxiliary AC input current of 1.0 A for 115V ac (rms) Nom; 0.5 A for 230V ac (rms) Nom; 47 A for 115VAC (0-pk) Max inrush and 95 A for 230V ac (0-pk) Max inrush. It has an internal shunt resistance of 35 Ohms and bus overvoltage of 452VDC.
This Ultra 3000 Drive is provided with a variety of connectors and rotary switches for setting the operation of this drive. It has CN1 connector which is a 44-pin interface, used for I/O interface; CN2 connector which is a 15-pin interface used for Motor Feedback connector and CN3 connector used for Serial communication. Also installed in the module’s front panel are Three (3) rotary switches, where Two (2) switches being used for setting the node address and One (1) used for configuration of the drive’s data rate. This drive also has a Module Status LED, used to report the overall state of the drive module and Network status LED for depicting the communication activity of the device. It also has a Seven-segment display that display codes related to the module’s current operational state and the SERCOS interface located at the bottom of the drive module.
The SERCOS fiber-optic cable used in the 2098-DSD-030-SE drive is immune to external noises/vibrations, which makes it an excellent insulator. The 7-segment display terminal gives information about the current processes. The augmented controls help the standalone capabilities of the Ultra3000 drive system. The field-programmable memory helps in certain operations which need memory-enabled instructions to interface with a remote device. In cases of power loss, the 2098-DSD-030-SE has the option to supply external logic power to maintain its position.
The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-030-SE is a strong drive with an input voltage of 100 to 240 Volts AC root means square (single-phase), an input frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz, and a nominal input current of 28 Amps root means square. It also has a 15 Amps (0-peak) continuous output current and 30 Amps (0-peak) intermittent output current, all contained in its convenient dimensions 14.2 x 9.6 x 3.6 inches.
