The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV100 is part of the Ultra3000 series of servo drives that run on input supply voltage of 230Vac - 480 VAC, 3-phase and frequency range of 47-63Hz. All the signal connections on the 2098-DSD-HV100 ultra 3000 drive use D-shell connectors. When routing power and signal wiring on this system, radiated noise from transformers and other electronic devices can interfere with the encoder communication or with other sensitive low-voltage signals, and this can cause system faults and communication problems. Whether it is a single point or a multipoint index, the 2098-DSD-HV100 can perform its functions with no difficulty, but make sure that the connected motor is not resisted by an external force and that it is load-free. Using an isolation transformer, attach a chassis ground wire to the neutral connection because this makes a solid-earth path for fault conditions and thereby also prevents the system from floating. Due to high current inrush during startup, make sure to note the 2098-DSD-HV100’s input voltage because it can be dangerous for the drive and nearby personnel. It also has a healthy 23 Amperes (0-peak) Continuous Output Current and 46 Amperes (0-peak) Intermittent Output Current, all contained in its convenient 9.54 x 14.2 x 5.97 in (242.2 x 360.7 x 151.6 mm) dimensions.

The Allen-Bradley 2098-DSD-HV100 is a Ultra 3000 Digital Servo Drive. This drive is used to interface Kinetix Servo motors such as the MPL and MPF series as well as other servo motors from previous product bulletins and 3rd party manufactured servo motors. This servo motor is specifically designed with front panel connectors of D-shell type, able to receive a high-density of signal wires with the use of an efficient cabling system, minimizing connection errors.

The 2098-DSD-HV100 is a servo drive that operates at a 3-Phase voltage supply - specifically, 230-480 Volts AC along a frequency range of 47-63 Hertz. This drive delivers a continuous output current of 23 Amperes while the intermittent output current is up to 46 Amperes. The output power rating of the 2098-DSD-HV100 is 5.0 Kilowatts @ 230 Volts AC and 10 Kilowatts @ 460 Volts AC.

The 2098-DSD-HV100 has internal shunt resistance of 40 Ω, a shunt-on voltage of 800 Volts DC, and a shunt-off voltage of 750 Volts DC with a bus overvoltage of 810 Volts DC. The drive’s energy absorption capability is 22 Joules @ 230 Volts AC input with 230 Volt motor, 194 Joules @ 230 Volts AC input with a 460 Volt motor, and 82 Joules @ 460 Volts AC input.

It also supports multi-drive connection by configuring RS-485 connectivity. For connection to controllers, the 230 Volt AC input with 460 Volt motor 2098-DSD-HV100 may need the breakout card for I/O and motor commands as this drive does not have a SERCOS and DeviceNet interface installed.
